Green Fleet

When the opportunity arises, the Task Force can help the Village replace municipal vehicles with hybrid, electric or other efficient options. In 2009, the Village received a grant to purchase a hybrid bucket truck for the Department of Sanitation.

At the same time, we educate residents about opportunities to purchase discounted electric vehicles and help provide infrastructure in public areas. A 2015 NYSERDA grant contributed to the installation of two electric vehicle charging installations behind Village Fall. Our Task Force is currently looking into other opportunities for public charging stations, possibly at Waterfront Park.

On the County level, Westchester has recently added 78 electric buses to its Bee-Line fleet. Take a ride today!
